About Sonny's Place
Sonny’s Place is named in loving memory of Mr. Ralph “Sonny” Hughes, Jr. Mr. Sonny was a huge supporter of his community and loved his people well. He had a way about him that encouraged others and he always believed in the best parts of those around him.
The idea of “where everyone shines bright” was inspired by the mindset he left behind when you were in his presence. His precious memories and loving advice will always be cherished by the owner of Sonny’s Place.

We're the Risners
Hello! Our names are Jeremy and Emma Risner, and we are the owners of Sonny's Place. We have two little boys (Micah Dallas and Major), love spending time with our friends and family, enjoy serving at our church and cheer for the TN Vols!
Jeremy has been a PTA (Physical Therapy Assistant) for 7 years and works with the PT population in home health, school setting, outpatient setting and orthopedic aspects. Jeremy was motivated to study in the field of Physical Therapy following a torn ACL and recovery. He attended Jackson State Community College and furthered his education with CEUs focusing in all areas of PT as he enjoys assisting his community as much as possible.
Emma has worked in the field of Occupational Therapy for almost 14 years and works with the OT population in the school setting, pediatric outpatient setting and with the adult population for outpatient services. Emma became inspired by the OT field after observing a session her little cousin with CP was attending. With guidance and further awareness of what all OT can do, she attended Nashville State Community College and graduated as a COTA. She then attended Belmont University to receive a master's degree to become an OTR. Emma also completes CUEs to address all areas of concern needed in the community with a focus on the Pediatric population.
The world of THERAPY is near and dear to our family! We are very humbled to have the opportunity to serve our community and be a part of the wonderful families in it!
